is a phrase used by many motivational coaches - in all aspects of life. Up to a point it has some validity. But, the problem is, this phrase assumes everyone has the same testosterone-fueled bravado mindset.

When the going gets tough – innovation becomes necessary, is a probably more universally apt saying.


In other words why make things difficult for ourselves in the first-place.


This is certainly true with weight loss.


However, some of the 'innovations' to make losing weight less tough, border on the senseless. And many others are 'invented' with only profits in mind, rather than with any desire to get any actual real results.


Hype, exaggeration, ridiculous and misleading claims, and often even down-right fiction, are employed to promote and sell many (most?) weight loss products. If they do not work, as most don't, the sellers can hide behind their suggestions that it is the individual's fault that the desired results do not materialise.

As I often say – there is NO single one-size-fits-all weight loss product, scheme, program, or regime that will provide anything more than short-term results for everyone.


Losing weight and getting Your Shape Back permanently has to be a holistic approach, based on individual circumstances, situations, health issues, motivational states, and mindset.

This is the subject line describing a particular (heavily promoted) 'weight-loss' product.

Now, it might be a good idea to take potions, pills and juices to 'kick-start' some early motivating results – IF they are a (small) part of a complete and holistic approach.


I can 100% promise you though that you will NOT lose weight more than temporarily simply by eating or drinking some chemical concoction or other – despite whatever the 'medical break-through', 'secret' claims made in the advertising blurb say. And even pills and potions composed entirely of natural things will do NO good in the LONG-TERM if you don't also improve every other area of your diet and eating habits.

The sales banner above relates to an endless video containing all sorts of ridiculous claims, hype and exaggeration – and story-telling fiction, promoting a product that actually is little more than a book written solely to promote a weight-loss supplement.


This is the problem with modern media advertising - no one, it seems wants to hear the real truth. Most people only want to hear about how quick and easy the 'fix' will be.



There is no doubt that quick early tangible weight loss (although not really necessary) is a great motivator. Remember success breeds success. And if followed-up with a more sensible approach to maintaining the initial weight loss – some so-called 'fat-melting' products can be useful at first. ​​​​​​​

Please do not be taken in by the 'before and after' photos, you find attached to many weight-loss products and programs, of people who have shed loads of weight in a short period of time.


This is NOT necessarily proof that the product works.


Anyone one with enough will-power and motivation can lose a lot of weight in a few weeks – IF they completely change their diet, spend most of their days exercising, and consume ONLY nutrition, rather than 'food.'





I did it myself – as you can read in YOUR SHAPE BACK. I completely stopped eating ALL my favourite 'foods' literally overnight. My motivation to do so was immense. I was no longer going to be deliberately poisoned (by manufactured food) for someone's PROFITS. Not for a single day longer.


Yes, I was sick, from all the symptoms of my body going through a severe detox. And it was hell to do. However, I stuck with it, and within two weeks I was almost skeletal. Alas, I did not take before and after photos, if I had the difference between the two would have sold any 'weight-loss' product on Earth!


Of course there, was no way though that I could sustain such weight loss and a few weeks later (eating only a raw food diet) I attained my natural body shape.

Being motivated to do something is all about having the right attitude for doing it – or a powerful reason for doing it.


I believe the greatest motivation for success is having a powerful enough reason to want to do it. The harder it is to do something the more powerful the reason for doing it needs to be.


Surely there can be no more powerful a reason for doing something than to save your life.


Even if you don't value your own life very highly – for whatever reason (this is low self-esteem in play) think about how much other people, your family and friends, value your life and longevity.


Unless you are an orphan living completely alone out in the boonies, there are people to who your life matters very much. If you are obese or very overweight – you will certainly have life-threatening diseases developing in your body right now. These diseases WILL shorten your life – and will lead to premature immobility, have no doubt about that!


All The Motivation You Will Ever Need...

If you cannot muster the motivation to change your slow death into invigorating life for yourself – do it for the people who love you, or the people you have a responsibility for.


Doing something for the benefit of other people can often be a greater motivator for gaining success, than just doing it for yourself.


By gaining success in something – in anything, even if it is only a small degree of success at first, you will set the foundations for further success.


Every time you feel like skipping your Exercise, Yoga, or Stretch routine think about the fact that you are ultimately doing it for other people as much as for yourself.


Every time you feel like giving-in to your cravings for a 'food' you have given-up, think about the fact that you are letting other people down, as well as yourself, if you do give-in.

If you want to lose weight for aesthetic reasons rather than for health reasons, think about how much more attractive you will be to other people, if you get (I should say WHEN  you get) your natural body shape back.


Put the focus of all your efforts to gain success in losing weight onto others, rather than onto yourself.


Think about how you would feel if you were slim and sexy - and how attractive that would make you to others. Or, if you were lean and muscular....
